Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy, and expensive and you probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Whirlpool losing a 30+ year devotee

Submitted by SanDiegoBob - 7/3/2019

I'm on my third pair of Duet washer/dryers. As a kid growing up, my folks swore by Maytag, but their reputation started to slip years ago, so the cost difference for an allegedly superior product could no longer be justified, so I tried Whirlpool. Bought my first pair 30+ years ago. Got about 14 years out of the first pair, 13 or so out of the second. Now on my third set and have had nothing but problems. Tub bearings went out under warranty for the washer after about a year (fortunately Costco makes them up their warranty to two years, so I was covered). Now with a 3+ year old top of the line steam dryer (the previous version of this one pictured) I am faced with a $400 parts/labor bill to replace the control board! Called customer service to see if they would offer some kind of customer satisfaction concession and was flatly (but politely) declined, even after escalating to mgmt. Nothing! I asked if they felt it was fair/reasonable to have to spend 50% of the cost of a new dryer to repair after 3+ years and she said no, but the warranty is the warranty. Such a shame that a company i have supported with my dollars through so many years can't provide support for me and my brand loyalty when things go bad. They spend so much in marketing/advertising dollars to get new customers when all they have to do is stand behind their product when it matters most, after a couple of years, instead of just when it is brand new.

Sorry dryer:(

Submitted by Jeans40 - 1/27/2019

I have owned this dryer for about 2 years and no longer than 2yrs., the clothes are not drying all the way and it started making this loud noise as its drying the clothes. My husband took it apart to find that in the back one of the wheels is floppy and needs to be replaced already, seriously!! :(.

Faulty control panel after 4 years

Submitted by Disappointedx5 - 11/23/2018

We owned this dryer for only four years when it stopped working. No way to turn it on. A $200 repair visit diagnosed a faulty control panel, which costs more than $400 plus labor to replace. I've never had a top-end, expensive appliance go so quickly before. And there is a question of whether a newer model would stack on our Whirlpool washer. Poor quality, poor value, would not recommend to anyone.

Broken Weld

Submitted by Jessica 1234 - 7/16/2018

A weld in the interior drum broke so that the dryer makes a loud clunking and pinches and tears clothing in the break. The dryer was bought in 2012 and whirlpool said their manufacturer defect warranty was only good for 1 year after purchase. They don't have much confidence in their workmanship it seems. Poor customer service, poor product.

Biggest waste of money on the planet

Submitted by DrCyber12 - 2/28/2018

Controller connections starting going out less than 1 year from purchase. Have had to go in and reset cheap control connections to board (all plastic, no real grip, very easy to arc). I will never, ever, ever, buy a whirlpool again. The matching washer went out BIG TIME, can't tell if it is a pump, or control board, but the control board is discontinued, so no real way to fix. THANKS Whirlpool... I would expect a washer and dryer set to last more than 4 years. Do the math....you will never get your money back on this junk. And if that is the MSRP for this piece of garbage, and you paid full price (thankfully I didn't) then you have been had. If there was a quarter of a star rating, I would even rate it lower than that.....DON'T BUY!!!

Bad Control Panel

Bad Control Panel

Submitted by Bobby Gee - 1/31/2018

Bought this dryer in July, 2013, a $2,000.00 + purchase. Four and one half years later (January, 2018), the machine died. Had Sears Repair come out to diagnose only to find a bad control panel with a $853.93 repair cost. We passed on the repair and will now be looking for anything but Whirlpool. Steer very clear of this.

Comforter Gets Bunched Up

Submitted by Chilitogirl - 2/20/2017

This dryer is great, except when I put my comforter in to dry it always wads up in a ball. This doesn't allow the whole thing to dry if I don't open up the door and undo the blanket every fifteen minutes or so. Other than that, it's great

It is amazing how little effort it is to select the proper settings for the different type of clothing and the steam cycle is fantastic if you forget to remove the load, a little steam and the wrinkles are gone!

Needed Services in less than 30 days

2/10/2016

The dryer stopped working within the first 30 days. I called for service and it took 8 days for a technician. He said it was a bad breaker and we would need an electrician. He was gone in 15 minutes and never pulled the unit away from the wall. We had an electrician test everything, the same day, on our new home and determined it wasn't the breaker. We called service again and they had called Whirlpool and knew what the problem was. It took 2 weeks to get the parts and another week before the technician could return. We had to go to a Laundromat the entire month of December. It is 45 days later and we are happy with the dryer, but hope nothing else goes wrong.

Musical Dryer

Submitted by Lee Street - 12/5/2015

We recently bought the pair (washer/dryer) of these and are very happy with the job they are doing. Fairly quiet, although they are in the basement, and chimes loud enough to let us know when load is finished. Energy efficient settings are nice, too. Hopefully these will be a lasting duo.

Quiet and energy efficient!

Submitted by Sports dad - 12/3/2015

We bought this dryer a couple months ago and have been very satisfied with the purchase. It has excellent features and dries out clothes faster than the old one! The only issue we have is, it is in a tight space that is heavily traveled and we often times bump into the buttons. But we are getting more used to that.

11/11/2015

We upgraded our dryer and this baby is a powerhouse! Very quiet, the steam is so versatile for those wrinkly shirts - and our linens are less wrinkly as well! Another feature is the towel cycle - our towels are super dry compared to our older dryer! While loaded with other features these two particular features by far have made all the difference.

I recently purchased the Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer. I can use them stacked or un-stacked. On the first day I washed and dried 4 loads that would have been 6 or 7 in my previous large stacked unit. I love the options on both units and they don't have any added on 'frills' that aren't needed. So happy with my purchases.

I purchased it to match my duet washer and replace my Bosch dryer. The new dryer has a great look and when is on looks like a Christmas tree. Unfortunately, the dryer is loud. My decision to buy this model was the noise, but it is not quieter then my Bosch was, so I am a bit disappointed in my purchase. Other then the noise I am happy with the dryer

Rolls clothes into a ball

Submitted by Fastcorners - 9/7/2015

While this dryer is fine in some respects it continually rolls everything into a ball. Yes theyre dry but you'll get a workout untying everything. Unlike the dryer it replaced it only turns in 1 direction - that's why it balls everything up.

Excellent Dryer

5/30/2015

I replaced a 3 1/2 year old washing machine with the Whirlpool WFW97HEDC. I wanted the dryer to match, so I bought this dryer. I could not be happier. The last dryer used to wad two twin blankets into a ball, and then the tub would get out of balance and knock against the outer wall of the dryer. It scared my poor dogs (and me)! The Whirlpool dryer is absolutely perfect. The way the paddles are configured, every load over the last month has come out perfectly. Nothing wads up into a ball. The clothes smell so clean and they seem to be much fluffier and softer than the last dryer left them. I used to think a dryer was just a dryer, but the Whirlpool machine has made me realize that there are significant differences. I love all of the different cycles and I really like this machine.
